Alternative Fuels and Oil

Renewable energy sources continue to evolve as society strives to curtail its reliance on fossil fuels. Many of these alternative fuels require precise measurements for gage, absolute, and compound pressures in potentially corrosive environments. Capacitive sensing technology is built to measure a variety of pressure types and keep up with the demands of renewable energy applications. Renewable energy encompasses a wide variety of fuels, including CNG, LNG, hydrogen, and wind.

Despite the increase in use and popularity of alternative fuels, oil and gas are still prevalent fuel types. Oil and gas industries are under pressure to comply with regulations as they capitalize on limited hydrocarbon resources. With the limited amount of hydrocarbon resources and a focus on unconventional extraction techniques, accurate and reliable sensors for oil and gas are increasingly essential. Detecting pressure, level, and flow of oil and gas is important for keeping record of current supply conditions. As alternative fuels play a larger role in the energy field, managing oil and gas levels in equipment is a necessity. Oil and gas sensors are typically used in applications like oil platforms, refineries, piping systems, and pipelines.
