In hot aisle containment, the hot air expelled by servers is isolated in a designated "hot aisle" and directed back to the cooling units, preventing it from mixing with the cooler intake air. In contrast, cold aisle containment focuses on enclosing the cold aisle where the servers draw in cool air, keeping it separate from the surrounding hot air.
